We've set up a convenient electronic keypad on the front door, so there's no need to worry about carrying keys or coordinating check-ins. AWD HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Please be advised that the final road leading to the cabin features a steep incline. It is strongly recommended, especially during the winter season, to arrive in a vehicle equipped with all-wheel drive (AWD) if available. While it is possible to ascend the hill without an AWD vehicle, having one will significantly enhance traction and improve your safety while navigating the road.

๐Ÿ”ฅHot tub & fireplaceโ€บ
If your home has a hot tub: the cover comes off from the far side โ€” please rinse off before getting in, keep the cover on when it's not in use so it stays warm, and no glass on the deck. If your home has a fireplace: it's ready to use with the wall switch or remote (gas) โ€” please don't burn anything in a gas unit. Not sure which you have? Just message us and we'll walk you through it. ๐Ÿค
๐Ÿ“ A few house notesโ€บ
Pets are welcome here (a pet fee applies). No smoking indoors. Quiet hours are 10 PMโ€“8 AM. Please treat our home like your own โ€” we truly appreciate it. ๐Ÿ’›
โญ Before you head homeโ€บ
A few quick things on your way out (check-out is 10:00 AM): โ€ข Start the dishwasher โ€ข Toss any trash in the outside bins โ€ข Turn off lights & set the thermostat to a reasonable temp โ€ข Lock up and make sure the door code screen goes dark That's it โ€” no stripping beds or heavy chores. Safe travels! ๐Ÿค

๐Ÿ›’ Essentials nearby
โ“ Before you call โ€” quick fixesโ€บ
Where can we access the river?โ€บ
The closest river access is Bradley Park โ€” 223 Nancy Haller Dr, Jasper, AR 72641. There are a few other access points nearby too.
What address should I put in my GPS?โ€บ
Enter 'American Buffalo Cabins' into your GPS โ€” the plain street address can lead you to the wrong spot. We'll also send detailed directions closer to your stay so you don't get lost. ๐Ÿงญ
The AC or heat (mini-split) isn't workingโ€บ
These homes use mini-split units with remotes. First, make sure every remote is on, set to the same temperature, and showing a sun icon. To reset a unit: point the remote at it and press and hold the Cancel button until it beeps loudly โ€” it can take 10โ€“15 minutes to fully reset. Still not cooperating? Message us.
What are the sleeping arrangements?โ€บ
3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths. Main level: one king bedroom, a full bath, the kitchen/dining, and a deck with a grill and private hot tub. Upstairs: one bedroom with two full beds, one bedroom with a full-over-full bunk, a soaker tub on the loft, and a half bath.
My door code isn't workingโ€บ
Re-enter it slowly and press the checkmark/lock button to finish. Your code and any backup entry details are in your arrival info โ€” and we're one message away if you're ever standing at the door. ๐Ÿ’›
The WiFi is down or slowโ€บ
Find the router (often by the TV or in a closet), unplug it, wait a full 30 seconds, then plug it back in โ€” the lights will blink and it takes about 2 minutes to fully come back online. Reconnect using the network and password in your essentials. If it keeps dropping, turn on WiFi Calling on your phone and message us.
The TV won't connect or there's no pictureโ€บ
Press Input or Source on the remote and pick the right HDMI. For streaming, open the app and sign in with your own account (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+). If the screen's frozen, unplug the TV for 30 seconds and plug it back in. Your WiFi name and password are in the essentials.
The TV works but there's no soundโ€บ
Check that the soundbar or receiver is powered on and the TV isn't muted. In the TV's Settings โ†’ Sound, make sure the audio output is set to the soundbar (not the TV speakers). The soundbar remote is usually in the media console.
A streaming app won't play or log inโ€บ
Sign in with your own account โ€” we don't keep logins on the TVs. If an app is stuck or won't load, close and reopen it, or unplug the TV (or streaming stick) for 30 seconds and plug it back in.
The projector or theater room isn't workingโ€บ
Make sure the projector and the receiver are both powered on โ€” there's often a power strip or a wall switch. Give the projector a minute to warm up, and check it's set to the right input/source. If it still won't come up, message us and we'll get someone on it.
The remote isn't workingโ€บ
Point it straight at the device. If it's unresponsive, it usually just needs fresh batteries โ€” check the kitchen drawer. Still stuck? Message us and we'll sort it out.
The hot tub jets aren't workingโ€บ
Most of our jets are the twist kind โ€” gently rotate the face of each jet (like turning a dial) until it opens up. Also make sure the air valves and diverter on the top rim are open, and that the pump is on high. Tip: many tubs have lower pressure when every jet runs at once, so turning the diverter toward one side boosts the pressure to half the jets. Still nothing after that? Message us and we'll take a look.
The hot tub has a strong smellโ€บ
That's usually just the water off-gassing after being closed up under the cover. Lift the cover all the way off and let it air out for 10โ€“15 minutes before you get in โ€” it clears right up. If it still smells off after that, message us and we'll check the water chemistry.
The hot tub water is foamy or cloudyโ€บ
Foam usually comes from lotions, sunscreen, or soap (please never soap in the tub!). A quick rinse before you hop in keeps the water clear. If it's really foamy, let us know and we'll treat it.
The hot tub isn't heating upโ€บ
Keep the cover on whenever you're not in it โ€” that's what holds the heat. After the cover's been off a while it can take a few hours to recover, so it's normal to wait a bit. The temperature is preset, so there's no need to touch the controls. Still cool after several hours? Message us and we'll send someone to dial it in.
The pool isn't warmโ€บ
Pool heating is available as an add-on โ€” just message us and we'll switch it on (it takes a few hours to come up to temperature). If your stay already includes a heated pool and it isn't warming, let us know and we'll get it sorted.
The heat or A/C isn't workingโ€บ
On the thermostat, set the mode (Heat or Cool) and a target temperature, then give it a few minutes. Please keep it between about 65โ€“75ยฐF. Some homes also have a seasonal fireplace that's off during warmer months.
The fireplace won't turn onโ€บ
Gas fireplaces have a wall switch, usually just to the side of the hearth โ€” flip that on. Some also have a remote on the mantel. Heads-up: for safety, fireplaces are turned off from about May through November. If it's the cold season and it still won't light, message us.
One room is too hot or coldโ€บ
Larger homes have more than one thermostat zone โ€” set the one for that area. Closing the vents in unused rooms pushes more air where you actually are. Then give it 20โ€“30 minutes to catch up before adjusting again.
A breaker tripped / part of the house lost powerโ€บ
Find the breaker panel โ€” usually the garage, laundry room, or an outside wall. Flip the tripped switch fully OFF, then back ON. If it trips again, unplug whatever caused it (space heaters and hair dryers are common culprits).
There's no hot waterโ€บ
After heavy use it just needs time to recover โ€” give it 20โ€“30 minutes. If it's still cold, check that the water heater's breaker is on, and message us if you'd like a hand.
The grill won't lightโ€บ
Always open the lid before lighting (never light it closed โ€” gas can build up). For a gas grill, make sure the propane tank valve is turned all the way open, then use the igniter or a long lighter. If the propane's low, message us and we'll get you a refill.
The fridge is beepingโ€บ
That's almost always a water-filter reminder, not a problem. Press and hold the alarm/filter button for a few seconds to reset it.
The ice maker isn't making iceโ€บ
A fresh batch takes about 24 hours to build up, and the little arm inside the bin needs to be down (not lifted up). If it's been a full day with the freezer set cold and still no ice, message us and we'll check it.
The garbage disposal is jammedโ€บ
Switch it off first (never reach inside). There's a small reset button on the underside of the unit โ€” press it, then try again. If it just hums, message us.
The washer or dryer won't runโ€บ
Make sure the door or lid is fully closed and latched, and clean the dryer's lint trap. Try the cycle again. If it won't start, won't drain, or stops mid-cycle, please don't force it โ€” message us and we'll take a look.
Where are batteries, light bulbs & extra supplies?โ€บ
Most homes keep these in a kitchen drawer or the laundry area. If you can't find what you need, just message us โ€” we'll point you right to it. ๐Ÿ’›
We're running low on toilet paper or suppliesโ€บ
We stock every home with starter supplies to get you through the first day or two, so on longer stays it's completely normal to need a few extras. The nearest store is a short drive away โ€” and if getting out isn't easy, just tell us what you're short on and we'll do our best to help. ๐Ÿ’›
A smoke or CO alarm is chirpingโ€บ
That's usually a low-battery chirp. Please don't disable it โ€” just message us and we'll take care of it right away.
The game room or arcade isn't workingโ€บ
Most machines are set to free play โ€” check that the power strip or switch behind them is on. If a screen's dark, flip the power and give it a moment to boot up. Still down? Message us and we'll sort it.
I keep seeing bugs or crittersโ€บ
Our mountain homes get the occasional visitor despite our cleaning team's best efforts. Keeping food sealed and trash in the outdoor bins helps a lot. If anything needs attention, just message us and we'll handle it right away.
I left something behindโ€บ
No worries โ€” message us within a few days of checkout and we'll track it down and coordinate return shipping. We'll do the legwork; you just cover postage.
It's freezing outside โ€” anything I should do?โ€บ
During a hard freeze, help us protect the pipes: let the faucets drip slightly, and open the cabinet doors under sinks so warm air can reach the pipes. Thanks for helping keep the home in great shape! ๐ŸงŠ
